How do I quickly search for MSDS on our 99 Supply items?
The fastest and easiest way is type in the words: 99 Supply. However, be aware that not all store-use items are 99 Supplies, so those MSDS will not come up using 99 Supply as the key words. This is especially true for chemicals used in some of our Specialty Divisions. If any items being used are from store stock, look up MSDS for those products as you normally would, by the item name.

How do I quickly find MSDS for our items used in our Specialty Divisions?
To find MSDS for Specialty Divisions, use the following key words for the division needed:
Photo Lab
Vision Center
TLE 99 (this should also be used to bring up Sam's TMA items)
When I select an item on the Result of Search Screen, it tries to download, but the MSDS doesn't come up. What's wrong?
The most likely cause is that the computer you are trying to use does not recognize the file type. Store Associates should access a computer in the Customer Service Area if they have difficulty viewing the MSDS.

Why don't I get any search results after I enter a keyword?
There can be several reasons you are not receiving search results. First, be sure your keyword was spelled correctly according to the product label. Also, check out the Search Examples, Hints and Tips page for more ideas. Second, items such as food, drugs, and cosmetics are exempt from MSDS requirements. To see which type of products carry an MSDS exemption, type in OSHA for the keyword.

Why do I only get a list of products after I enter a keyword, not the MSDS?
You're doing everything right; you just stopped short a step. The list comes up because you have to choose (by clicking) one of the items from the list to view the MSDS.

Why can't I view an MSDS?
The most likely problem is that you are working on the Manager's Workbench and the proper viewer is not set up. If this is the case, try moving to a CBL machine (for Wal-Mart), or M-Tracks (for Sam's). The problem should then be solved; if not call Field Support at 479-273-4357. Store Associates should access a computer in the Customer Service Area if they have difficulty viewing MSDS.
What do I do if an Inspector comes in and requests an index for our MSDS?
The Inspector wants to see an MSDS index for your store-use chemicals. The easiest thing to do is take him to your CBL machine, and enter the key words for your 99 supplies and any applicable specialty divisions you may have in your store (please see the questions regarding the specific key words for these searches above). When you get the Result of Search Screen, hit the Printer icon at the top of your screen. After you have printed each Result of Search screen you will have a complete, up-to-date index for your MSDS.

Are we allowed to give MSDS to customers and members?
YES! In fact, we are required by law to give this information out to our customers and members if we are selling a hazardous product for use in their place of business. Use this as a customer service tool--exceed their expectations!

Is there a way for customers and members to access our MSDS information directly?
Yes, there is a web page available on the Internet; the address is http://msds.walmartstores.com/
